Overview: Educational administrators design and implement methods to manage and measure how well an educational program is meeting its objectives. They select, develop and evaluate both the teachers and administrative staff members.
Duties: They set educational goals and define the methods of instruction and the standards for evaluating how well students are learning the curriculum being taught.

They specify the qualifications for instructors and teachers who will teach the curriculum and how to measure their competence.

Manage the counseling and guidance services offered to students by the school or educational institutions. They design programs to involve parents in the school decision-making process.

They conduct research studies to compare and evaluate different teaching styles and methods for student education.

Job Outlook: Employment in this field is projected to grow 5% to 8% percent from 2018 to 2028, which matches the average growth rate for all occupations.
Starting Salary: Principals in middle schools earn higher salaries than those in high schools. College academic deans of arts and sciences earn higher salries than both middle and high school principals.

Education Level: Candidates for this occupation generally have completed their Bachelor’s Degree and have continued their education either 1 or 2 years longer.
Additional Training/Education: The position of educational administrator is not usually an entry level job. Many administrators begin their careers as teachers or instructors with a bachelor's degree and prepare for an administrative job by completing a master's or doctoral degree in educational administration.
