Overview: Advertising coordinators confer with producers of products and services to determine advertising strategies needed to increase their sales or recognition by the public. They design advertising campaigns for TV, radio and publications and conduct surveys to evaluate advertising effectiveness.
Duties: Advertising coordinators work with client executives of business firms or other institutions to determine their advertising needs. They jointly define the product, the target group and the present competition.

They prepare a proposal for review with clients to describe an advertising strategy consisting of the message to be communicated, artwork and media needed, and cost of the campaign.

Advertising coordinators oversee the design of the artwork, video tapes and text needed. They contract for printing of brochures or announcing or showing TV commercials.

They design consumer survey and sales studies to assess the success of the advertising campaign and determine what changes in advertising methods are needed to enhance the client's sales.

Job Outlook: Employment in this field is projected to grow 5% to 8% percent from 2018 to 2028, which matches the average growth rate for all occupations.
Starting Salary: Most earn bonuses equal to 10% or more of their salaries.
Salary Range (National Average): $32,000 to $40,000
Education Level: Training for this occupation generally requires an Associate Degree from a 2 year or community college.
Additional Training/Education: For advertising management positions, most employers prefer a bachelor's degree in advertising and communication. A study program should include courses in business administration, marketing consumer behavior, market research, statistics, communications and visual arts. College graduates with creativity, experience and excellent communication skills will have the best opportunities.
