Fundraising Manager

Occupation Information table
Overview: Fundraising Managers plan and coordinate the raising of monies needed for special projects such as non-profit athletic or political events, restoration of historic buildings, improvement of museums, etc. They plan fund raising events, set up foundations for donations & grants.
Duties: They plan and conduct surveys to determine types of persons and organizations likely to contribute money to a project such as restoration of buildings, new buildings, political events, etc.

They make estimates of the amount of time and resources needed to raise a given amount of money. They report findings to the executive of the fund raising project.

They design and implement fund raising plans by contracting for services such as advertising, printed materials and temporary workforce needed to contact potential donators.

They confer with executives during project planning phases to identify project characteristics and project ammouncement strategy that would motivate contributions.
Degree(s): A.A.S. Management: Marketing Concentration 
A.S. Business Administration (Accounting and Marketing) 
Job Outlook: Employment in this field is projected to grow 5% to 8% percent from 2018 to 2028, which matches the average growth rate for all occupations.
Salary Range (National Average): $28,000 to $34,000
Education Level: Typically, a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college (some are 5 years) is required to be considered for this occupation.
Additional Training/Education: A bachelor's degree in communications is the appropriate educational background to prepare for this occupation. However, other liberal arts majors in sociology, business administration, psychology, etc. can also qualify you for this occupation. Courses in journalism, communications media, advertising, accounting, statistics and economics will strengthen your qualifications.
