Sales Representative (Telecommunications)
Overview: | Telecommunication systems sales representatives survey residential, commercial and industrial telephone company customers to identify their current telephone problems and future needs. They plan new devices including satellite and microwave to satisfy customer requests. |

Duties: | They survey different segments of the population to determine their telephone, TV, computer service and fax needs. They differentiate their findings for commercial and residential customers. They estimate the future communication needs for different age groups, family size, income groups for different geographical areas. They advise telephone, communications and cable TV companies what kinds of technical equipment such as satellites and microwave transmitters they will need to service customers. They conduct experiments with new communications equipment installed for clients to measure the quality of the communications and customer satisfaction. |
