COMPENSATION:    $15 per hour (25 hours per week) **

NOTE: [**If your school offers paid internships, the candidate must apply for school funding FIRST. NAPW will then supplement that funding to reach an hourly compensation of $15.00 if applicable)


Position Description:

National Advocates for Pregnant Women (NAPW) seeks talented and highly motivated interns to assist in NAPW’s substantive and administrative work. Operations internships are positions for individuals who are not in law school and are suitable for undergraduate or graduate students. NAPW is committed to ensuring that interns have a significant and valuable learning experience, including participation in staff meetings and organizational events to the fullest extent possible.

The CUNY Operations Intern may implement a wide variety of administrative tasks that assist with the general day-to-day operations of NAPW, including meeting coordination and receipt reconciliation. Interns may work on technology-related projects, including researching and training staff on best practices for software use and data security. Interns may also direct data projects that will support our database management. Interns with a particular interest in non-profit administration and fundraising will have opportunities to work on projects in these areas as well. This internship position reports directly to the Administration and Operations Associate.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordination of biweekly meetings; transcription and dissemination of Staff Meeting notes;

  • Monthly receipt collection for operations purchases and expenses;

  • Assisting with research, implementation, and staff training of technology updates;

  • Assisting with data collection/input and maintenance of NAPW’s contact management database (SalesForce);

  • Updating and management of NAPW’s Conference Calendar

  • Assisting in documenting and organizing operations protocols for the NAPW Policies & Procedures Manual;

  • Providing back-up telephone coverage for the Administration & Operations Associate (AOA);

  • Other duties as assigned.

Special Skills & Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Current enrollment in a CUNY School (undergraduate or graduate);
  • Interest in non-profit administration and operations;
  • Strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; Fluency in written and oral English;
  • Interest in women’s civil and human rights, reproductive justice, and drug policy and criminal justice reform;
  • Commitment to collaborative, cross-departmental work and the ability to work well with people in diverse settings;
  • Willingness to learn new and/or proprietary computer applications as required;
  • Solid proficiency and comfort in using a variety of computer software applications, social media platforms, and databases (REQUIRED: MS Excel, MS Word, Gmail, Zoom, Google Docs, Social Media apps);
  • Familiarity of, experience in, or at least interest/ trainability in donor administration, payroll software applications, contact management databases (e.g. SalesForce).

Due to the Pandemic, NAPW is at present a completely remote workforce. We will work with interns to ensure that they have the necessary tools, and digital on-boarding to be successfully integrated into our remote work environment.
