First Annual Queensborough Community College Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Conference: June 10th - 11th, 2022

The Queensborough Community College Continuing Education and Workforce Development department is now accepting concurrent session presentation proposals for its virtual Annual Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Conference, scheduled for June 10, 2022, and June 11, 2022.

We are requesting proposals for individual presentations, panels, workshops, or symposiums. The theme of the conference is, “Cultivating New Beginnings through Peer Recovery: Advocating for CRPA Career Pathways in the Post Pandemic Landscape.”

Deadline for the Call for Proposals is April 30, 2022, at 11:59pm.

The Continuing Education Department encourages presentations that focus on:

  • The integration of CRPAs in the healthcare field
  • CRPA’s experiences in training
  • The role of CRPAs as the pandemic slows down.
  • Matters related to professional development

Selection Criteria

Proposals should be tied to the Department’s standards for accreditation, requirements of affiliation, policies or procedures, or federal compliance requirements and/or required accreditation activities for CRPAs and other recovery professionals. Potential presentations should reflect the theme cited above.

 The following criteria will guide the selection process. The proposal:

  • is submitted by the deadline.
  • is submitted in English and is well-written and complete.
  • presents a clear and succinct abstract with outcomes for the audience.
  • has a clear connection to the conference theme and represents reflections on lessons learned.
  • is reflective of effective practices in CRPA accreditation activities.
  • reflects an innovative approach to change within the context of the CRPA role.
  • clearly indicates how the audience will use key takeaways from the presentation to benefit their institutions.
  • relevant for the CRPAs and other professionals in the field.
  • provides a presentation plan that will be engaging and interactive for the audience.

Submission Requirements

The submission also requires the following information; therefore, please have this required information available at the time of completion.

  1. Proposal information must include:
  • Title (no more than 10 words) – if a proposal is accepted for presentation, this will appear in the program.
  • Proposal Abstract (no more than 300 words) - overview of presentation; relevance to theme and level of audience participation.
  • Program Summary (no more than 500 words) – a short description of your presentation.
  • How will attendees be positioned to apply what you have presented at their own institutions when they return to campus? Examples of key takeaways include rubrics, checklists, timelines, strategies, models, next steps, sample case studies, sample plans, and/or a list of additional resources.
  • How will your session translate into improving the experience of attendees at their institutions, propose solutions to relevant institutional issues, or update attendees on an important issue, project, or change? 
  • How will you deliver information during the presentation to make it engaging and interactive? 

 

For the Presenter and Co-Presenters:

  • Contact information (name, title, institutional affiliation/organization/company, address, email, telephone)
  • Biographical information (no more than 250 words)

 

Submission by Primary Point of Contact

The person submitting the proposal is considered the Primary Point of Contact for all items concerning this submission. If the proposal is accepted for presentation, the person submitting the proposal will continue to serve as the Primary Point of Contact for all presentation communications. Failure to provide Presentation Materials or additional items required for the Annual Conference program or failing to respond to program communications about the proposal may result in a presentation being removed from the program.
