Putting Safety First: Campus Access

COVID Planning Update

October 26, 2020

As we deal with the uncertainty of COVID-19, it is important to keep the well-being of all members of our campus community foregrounded. As such, we will endeavor to maintain a limited physical presence on campus whenever possible, thereby protecting the health and safety of our valued colleagues in Public Safety, Buildings & Grounds, and in other areas of our essential operations. Even one visit by a COVID-19 positive individual could have profound implications, with a cascade of consequences.

Members of our campus community who have a critical need to visit campus must complete the NYS COVID-19 Response - Return to Work Training, which is housed in Blackboard, prior to completing the Campus Access Request Form. Requests for campus access will be reviewed, and a safety plan will be developed for each approved visit, regardless of reason or length of time. Visitors will be required to follow all directions in the safety plan, including pre-determined ingress and egress points and the required use of PPE and social distancing protocols.

Those members of the campus community with an approved Campus Access Request will also be required to complete a Health Screening before entering campus. CUNY has selected the Everbridge Safety Connection Pro/Contact Tracing mobile app. The application is expressly focused on higher education and is designed to create confidence for students, faculty, staff and parents when visiting CUNY colleges and offices.

The quick survey involves five short questions and is accessible through Everbridge's health screening app. Please use this Instructional Guide for accessing and using the app. Authorized visitors should use the Visitors' Guide for instructions. Based on the answers provided, users will receive confirmation on their phone or email that clears them to enter the college or office. Those not cleared to enter will be given additional guidance on what they should do next. Please also review these FAQs for answers to questions.

Following the completion of the Health Screening, visitors will be required to check into the Administration Building lobby where Public Safety will verify Campus Access and Health Screening approvals, and details of the individual safety plan will be reviewed.

As always, questions can be submitted to COVID19Coordinator@qcc.cuny.edu.

We remain committed to ensuring the health and safety of every member of our campus community, and we thank you for your cooperation during these unprecedented times.
