Accessing Textbooks / Additional supplies

Q: Are there any loaner laptops or iPads available for student use?

A: Yes! Students who are approved for the Long-Term Laptop & Tablet Loaner Program will be issued a device for the fall semester. Please review the details of the Distance Learning Laptop & Tablet loaner program.

Q: I'm having trouble with Blackboard, what do I do?

A: The Help Desk will be available to help you if you cannot login to Blackboard. If you encounter any technical issues with Blackboard or Blackboard Collaborate, contact the Office of Educational Technology. For course content-related questions, contact your instructor.

Q: Is the QCC Bookstore open for textbook purchases?

A: Yes. The Bookstore is also accessible online.

Q: My course requires specific software to do coursework and complete assignments. Will the software be provided by the College?

A: Software necessary to complete your coursework is available via the College's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. More information on accessing software remotely is available on the Student VDI webpage.


Q: Are Fall classes going to be online or in person?

A: Registration for fall classes is open! Classes will be offered in 4 formats - in person, hybrid, online (synchronous and asynchronous).

Bursar / Financial Aid

Q: Are there any accommodations for students to pay their tuition during this particularly difficult time?

The Bursar office offers a Tuition Payment Plan that provides benefits such as stretching payments over a period of months, which lowers your monthly payments since the total amount financed will be divided over more scheduled payments. The plan is NOT a loan, so it is an interest-free payment plan.

Q: How are students submitting forms when they are selected for verification for financial aid?

A: The Office of Financial Services is now using an online document submission platform. This will allow you to securely complete and upload financial aid forms in a convenient format 24/7. Please go to the Verification Process and Online Forms web page to learn more.

Professor Contact & Distance Learning Inquires

Q: You haven't heard from a professor about a class, what should you do?

A: Please try emailing your professor. The professor's respective department may be a good avenue to reach them as well. Find your professor's department. You may also reach to the Office of Academic Affairs for assistance with connecting with your professor.

Q: How can I complete language lab hours?

Q: Is there still a way to receive tutoring via distance learning?

A: The Center for Tutoring and Academic Support offers support for a wide selection of courses. Please review the following web pages for specific subject tutoring availability and to book an appointment:

Math Center: For math tutoring, please email your instructor or adviser who will send a Starfish referral to the Math Center. After you request a referral from your instructor or adviser, check your Office 365 email to set up an appointment with a tutor.

Q: What should I do if I am having a problem completing my work in an online only learning format?

A: Reach out to each of your professors and let them know the challenges you are facing with regard to transitioning to the online only learning format, and see if they would be willing to give you an extension on your coursework, e.g., homework assignments, projects, tests/exams, etc. as you learn to adjust. It is also a good idea to just give yourself time to adjust. It is quite common for students to need a little time to get used to the online learning format. The College also provides free counseling which has helped many students adjust to online learning!
