The National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) has named Queenborough Community College sophomore
Valerie Muse to the 2023 NATYCAA Female All-Scholar Team.
Muse, a two-sport athlete for the Tigers in women's volleyball and women's outdoor track & field, was selected as one of six runners-up nationally for the NATYCAA Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. "The 2023 NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete Committee had the pleasure of reviewing several nominations who were all much more than just athletes," says Brian Henderson, Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Inclusion and Athletic Director of Patrick & Henry Community College."
Valerie is a two-year starter on the women's volleyball team, where she helped lead the Tigers to the 2021 CUNYAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, the 2021 Region XV Championship, the 2021 Northeast District Championship, and a 12th Place finish at the 2021 NJCAA Division III National Championships. As a member of the women's outdoor track & field team, she was a 2022 USTFCCCA All-American in three different events (heptathlon, 4x400m, 4x800m), helping to lead the Tigers to a 15th place finish at the 2022 NJCAA Division III National Championships.
Academically, she is a CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete, Region XV All-Academic, and a 2021-22 NJCAA Third Team Academic All-American, as well as a CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month.
