The Academic Senate Committee on Admissions Committee met on December 14, 2018 at 10 am


Committee Members in Attendance:

Dr. Aliza Atik, English

Dr. Sunil Dehipawala, Physics

Dr. Kenneth Pearl, History

Dr. Jannette Urciuoli, Student Affairs/Counseling


Liaisons in Attendance:

Ms. Jankee Guzman, CUNY Office Assistant (Admissions)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 10:18 a.m.

  1. Discussion among committee members:

    1. Minutes from the November meeting were not supplied therefore not voted on.

    2. We are waiting to hear from the Committee on Committees for the replacement of Dr. Carol Alleyne, who has resigned from the college.

    3. We have cancelled all of our scheduled meetings going forward to re-schedule them one week after the Committee on Course and Standing (CCS) meet. Jankee will inquire about this and inform us via email of our new scheduled dates – on Fridays.

    4. We agreed to hold off on discussing the grade change policy until we had a written policy to work from.

    5. A request was made of Jankee to provide us feedback on the students who we accepted for the spring 2018 semester—what percentage of these students received a 2.0 GPA or above for the spring semester.

    6. Pearl took the initiative in reading all 77 (101) application appeals and summarized them so that our meeting can be more efficient. Thank you Dr. Pearl.

  2. Appeals for Reinstatement

NON DEGREE
