The Academic Senate Committee on Admissions Committee met on July 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. Virtually


Committee Members in Attendance:

Dr. Kenneth Pearl, History

Dr. Leslie Francis, Business

Dr. Katwicia Desruisseaux, College Discovery

Dr. Aliza Atik, English

Dr. Jason Demas, Health, Physical Education & Dance

Dr. Sarbani Ghoshal, Biology Sciences & Geology

Dr. Carmen Reid, Nursing


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 11 a.m.

Business

  1. Discussion among committee members:

    1. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved unanimously.

    2. Welcomed two new members – Dr. Sabani Ghoshal & Dr. Carmen Reid

    3. Elections were held for Fall 2020 – Jason Demas was unanimously elected Chair and Carmen Reid was unanimously elected secretary

    4. Groups were broken into two and the new members trained with the experienced members on how to evaluate an application

  2. Appeals for Reinstatement

    1. The members of the committee reviewed:

      (20) Degree student records

      (0) Non-degree student records

      (0) NP-AAS/NS-AAS student records

      A total of (20) Student records

Degree

(11) Students approved re-admissions with conditions for the Spring semester.

(9) Students denied re-admissions for the Spring semester.

(0) Student's application deferred based on CCS Committee's decision.

(0) Student's application held for more documentation.

(0) Student's application referred to graduation audit.

Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 12 p.m.
