What is a Dual/Joint Degree Program?

A written agreement between two colleges.

Dual/Joint Degree Programs for Liberal Arts Students
*Students do not file a CUNY Transfer Application to transition to John Jay.
**Students must file a CUNY Transfer Application to transfer to Queens College.
QCC/Queens Dual/Joint Childhood Education Program (Grades 1-6)

The Dual/Joint Childhood Education Program prepares students to enter the Bachelor's degree program in Childhood Education at Queens College. It meets all New York State learning standards for teacher education certification. Students will complete the Liberal Arts core requirements at Queensborough before transferring.

A Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.75 required to graduate from Queensborough Community College.

Must file a CUNY Transfer Application.
The CUNY Justice Academy

The CUNY Justice Academy (CJA) program is available at CUNY community colleges. This program provides an opportunity for students to transition into John Jay as a junior.

Students must follow and complete program requirements

Must graduate from Queensborough Community College.

No CUNY Transfer application is required.

Access to research opportunities.

Students in the CUNY Justice Academy (CJA) program at QCC, have access to a CJA Adviser on the John Jay campus.

Liberal Arts Concentrations
Liberal Arts Concentrations are designed for students who have not yet chosen a specific area of study. Students are prepared to enter a bachelor's degree program as a junior and are encouraged to choose electives from the area in which they may major. Up to nine credits in a concentration may be selected to fulfill the free electives. Queensborough currently offers 14 Liberal Arts concentrations:
