Biography:

Dr. Christi Saindon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, Theatre, & Media Production. She is also an Ally member of the QCC LGBTQ+ Faculty Staff Association, and she serves the Office of Community Standards and is an At-Large Faculty Member on Academic Senate at QCC.

By staying up-to-date on current events, academic scholarship, and pedagogical practices, Dr. Saindon works to assist students in achieving their learning goals. Having served as a CUNY Career Success Fellow (2023-2024), she also incorporates career-focused content into the courses she teaches. She teaches the introductory communication course (SP211) each semester, challenging students to rise to their own speaking potential and embracing their public speaking growth. In addition to SP211, she teaches SP212-Interpersonal Communication and SP213-Intercultural Communication, both of which cover topics that are invaluable for students work & personal everyday lives. 

Prior to her appointment at QCC, Dr. Saindon taught full time at James Madison University in the School of Communication Studies. She also served as a Faculty-in-Residence in Shenandoah Hall, a dormitory designated for Honors College students.

Research:

Dr. Saindon's research interests are varied, crossing many topics, such as pedagogy and teaching practices, performance, body image, and women’s issues in a variety of communication contexts. She is a Life Member of the Eastern Communication Association, where she is an active member of Interest Groups such as Community College, Interpretation & Performance Studies, and Voices of Diversity.
