Committee Guide Addendum

Committee Description 

  • The Pre-College Committee is composed of (6) voting members and (5) Ex Officio Members. The committee reports and recommends to the Academic Senate about matters related to the Queensborough CC Pre-College Programs: BTECH, CUNY START, CLIP, and COLLEGE NOW.  

 

  • Pre-College Programs serve Non-Matriculated students by offering opportunities to earn credit toward degree programs and/or complete developmental requirements in highly structured programs.  

 

  • The committee reviews Credit for Prior Learning documents forwarded from academic departments.   

 

Committee Chair  

 

  • The Pre-College Committee Chair is responsible for organizing committee meetings, setting the agenda for meetings, posting minutes and agendas to the Pre-College Committee website, and writing the annual report.  

 

Committee Secretary  

 

  • The Pre-College Committee Secretary is responsible for drafting minutes at meetings and forwarding meeting minutes to the Pre-College Committee Chair.  

 

Committee Meetings  

 

  • The Pre-College Committee meets 3 times a semester on campus for 1 hour. It is a responsibility of the Pre-College Committee Chair to contact all members about availability for meetings and to choose the best time when a majority of voting members (4) can attend.  

 

Committee Workflow  

 

  • Starting in the Fall Semester 2023, all drafts of Pre-College Committee documents are uploaded to the Pre-College Committee Microsoft Teams page. All members of the Pre-College Committee have access to the materials and can contribute as needed.  

 

  • Starting in the Fall Semester 2023, the committee compiles and updates its own internal report about Pre-College program history, enrollment, matriculation, performance, and integration.
