Strategic Plan Alignment: Culture of Care

Queensborough's five-year Strategic Plan includes the four goals listed below as part of the College's commitment to cultivating a Culture of Care.

Professional Development- External

The New York City Department of Mental Health is offering two Queensborough specific professional development opportunities, one for employees and one for students. 

Title: Promoting Mental Health of New York City’s Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Communities (PMH-AANHPI)

This workshop is a three-hour learning experience that includes:

  • The history of the AANHPI community in the U.S.
  • The signs of mental health concerns
  • When and how to access culturally relevant resources
  • How to address stigma

The Transparency Series

During AY 2022-2023, the Office of the President launched the Transparency Series, an annual professional development initiative dedicated to advancing Queensborough's Strategic Plan commitment to create a Culture of Care. The series aims to increase transparency regarding college processes and systems, and provide opportunities for faculty and staff to access resources and develop skill sets.

Through these offerings, Queensborough is working to operationalize the four Strategic Plan goals included under Culture of Care.
