Blackboard

Blackboard is a web-based platform that helps your professors develop and deliver course content. This platform is comprised of course content, assignments, online activities and, in your online courses, an intuitive way to interact and collaborate with your classmates in a password-protected online environment.

CUNY Alert

Join CUNY Alert to receive text or voice notifications of campus emergencies or weather related closings. You select the best way to get messages: cell phone or e-mail. You can sign up even if you are registered with another emergency notification system.

Dining On Campus

When you need a bite to eat on campus, visit the Science Café (QCC Dining Services) for a wide range of ‘grab and go’ and other items including: 

  • Hot Beverages: Hot Coffee; Hot Chocolate; Flavored Hot Coffees (Cappuccino & French Vanilla) 
  • From the Grill (Breakfast): Eggs to order; French Toast; Pancakes; Breakfast Wraps; Assorted NY Bagels 
  • From the Grill (Lunch): Hamburgers; Hot Dogs; BLT sandwiches; Grilled chicken sandwiches 
  • Pizza: A variety of toppings available 
  • Grab and Go: Sandwiches on sliced bread; Baguette sandwiches; Cold Pasta salads; Caesar Salad; Veggie sandwiches and more!

The Starbucks Café, located on the second floor of the Kurt R. Schmeller Library Building, is open morning through night offering a full line of Starbucks Coffee and Espresso drinks. You'll find that our Starbucks drinks are cheaper than you'll find at any retail Starbucks location.

Office 365

As a registered student, Office 365 is your official Queensborough email address. All official communication from the College to you will be done only through Office 365. Your free Microsoft Office 365 account offers 50 GB for message storage, Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote & Access), Web and mobile device support, and excellent email security. If you haven't already, be sure to activate your Office 365 student account today, and download it to your phone for easy access. Check your student email often for important messages from the College!

QCC Connect App

Tigers! If you haven't already, be sure to download the QCC Connect app to your cell phone! The app has your digital ID card, which you must present to public safety to access campus. The app also lets you: View your course schedule; access your Office 365 student email; add Tiger Bucks and Dining Dollars to your TigerCard; Add classes, pay your bill, manage financial aid awards and so much more! Starfish

Starfish is Queensborough's Student Success Communication Network. Starfish provides the ability for faculty, advisers, learning centers, and other student services to work together to support student success throughout the semester. Some professors may use Starfish to acknowledge student success and offer encouragement, guide students to learning centers for academic support, or to communicate areas needed for improvement. Starfish is also where students can make appointments with their advisers for help with choosing courses and creating schedules during registration periods.

Advocacy Resource Center

The Advocacy Resource Center (ARC) is committed to providing services to our students and their family members for free. We offer our services to help students succeed at Queensborough. Students who are in need of public benefits may contact us for assistance with SNAP, unemployment benefits, Fair Fares NYC (transportation costs), housing resources and application assistance. We can also help with financial coaching through our partners from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), who can provide one-on-one financial counseling sessions to discuss a range of topics including, but not limited to, financial stability and goal-setting, budgeting, managing money and saving, debt, taxes, credit scores, and credit reports.

Counseling Center

At the campus Counseling Center, our licensed, professional counselors offer short-term individual personal counseling, help students network and collaborate with all campus support services for a great experience at Queensborough, and so much more.

Kurt R. Schmeller Library

The Kurt R. Schmeller Library at Queensborough is your go-to place for books, online database journals, help with research papers and citation styles such as MLA and APA, and so much more. It is also a great (and quiet!) place to study, whether by yourself or with some of your classmates. When off campus you can access the online library database by signing in with your CUNY login, and the library website has a great LibChat feature where you can get quick answers to any questions you may have about library events, research strategies, or online tutorials and special Blackboard events hosted by the library. Lucille A. Bova Food Pantry

The Lucille A. Bova Food Pantry, located on the first floor of the Administration building, room A-119, helps provide Queensborough students with reliable access to sufficient, nutritious food. By reducing health-related barriers to educational achievement, the campus food pantry supports the academic and life success of our students.

Male Resource Center

The Male Resource Center (MRC) is dedicated to increasing the retention and graduation rates of male students, with a particular focus on self-identified Black and Latino males who are disproportionately impacted by opportunity barriers along their academic journey. The MRC's programs and activities are open to all Queensborough students without regard to race, gender, national origin, and other characteristics. We are dedicated to preparing each student to become leaders and innovators in their communities and in the world.

Benefits of joining MRC include:

  • Mentoring provided by fellow students who have achieved success at QCC and who will help you on your educational journey.
  • Tutoring Services in English and Math courses with an emphasis on tutoring from mentors who reflect a shared racial identity.
  • Leadership Training focused on the development of personal and professional goals set forth by members of the community.
  • Financial Resources/Employment/Internships that offer access to financial aid assistance as well as provide support with identifying grants, campus employment and internship opportunities.
  • Events and Activities specifically designed to engage its members’ interests and inspire joy.

QCC Online Bookstore

The QCC Online Bookstore is the place to go for your course textbooks (new, used and rentals) as well as notebooks, calculators, QCC apparel, even snacks! Log in using your CUNY login account, and see your personalized page with the courses you registered for and the course materials your professors assigned.

Student Center

Located in the lower level of the Student Union Building, the Student Center is the place to go if you want to relax between classes. The Student Center and its amenities are accessible to any student with a valid Queensborough Community College CUNY Identification Card. Visit the Student Center web page to learn more!

TigerCard

Your TigerCard is a convenient and powerful resource to use on campus that can help you save money, provide cashback rewards and allows you to easily make use of college services. Your Queensborough TigerCard also provides you with easy access to campus. You may use either your physical or digital TigerCard at any campus access point!

Tutoring Centers

Our free campus tutoring center, Center for Tutoring and Academic Support (CTAS), give registered Queensborough students an opportunity to further their success by providing high quality one–to–one tutoring, small group learning and workshops in a variety of subjects.

Advisement

Your academic adviser, who is assigned to you through Starfish, will work with you to help you select courses, create a class schedule, and develop a degree plan so you may achieve your educational goals. Academic planning and course scheduling are a major part of your college success, so work with your adviser to make sure you stay on track to graduate!

Let the Office of Career Services help you make the most of your time at Queensborough! We will help you prepare your resume, prepare for a job interview or internship, show you the skills employers are looking for, offer career building advice, and so much more!

Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar (Student Records) supports students in different ways. Whether you want help with registration, need a transcript, grad audit, or other academic records or forms, the Registrar's office is here to help! Be sure to check the Academic Calendar often for important dates and updates every semester.

Transfer Resource Center

The Transfer Resource Center (TRC) serves students at Queensborough by providing assistance and advice with their preparations for senior college experiences in a variety of academic programs, supports student outreach for transfer awareness, and collaborates with external college partners.

Paying for College

Bursar

Enroll today in a Nelnet payment plan. Queensborough makes college more affordable by allowing you to better manage your payments over time. Instead of paying your spring semester bill all at once, the Nelnet interest-free payment plan allows you to stretch payments over a period of months. There are still payment plans available for spring!

Financial Services (Financial Aid)

Financial Services supports students in achieving their educational goals by helping them in obtaining financial assistance through federal, state, institutional and private grant, scholarship, loan, employment and payment plan programs.
