Money Matters

  • A community college is a more affordable option than starting your college career at a four-year university allowing you to invest in your future educational and personal goals.
  • An Associate's degree can significantly boost your lifetime earnings. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data* from 2021 reveal that associate degree holders earn about $963 per week, and people with an A.S. or A.A.S. have much better prospects for employment and far higher earnings potential than those without a degree.

Scholarship Opportunities

  • There are transfer scholarships to four-year colleges available to qualified Queensborough graduates.

Easy Transitions

  • Take advantage of Queensborough Community College's Dual/Joint Degree programs and Transfer Agreements which lead to an easy transition to many four-year colleges.

Special Learning Opportunities and Support Services

  • Access to work-study programs, evening/weekend classes, undergraduate research as well as opportunity programs such as ASAP, College Discovery, CSTEP, CUNY Edge and more.
  • Free support via the Academic Computing Center, Center for International Affairs, Immigration and Study Abroad, Career Services, Counseling Center, Center for Tutoring and Academic Support, Mathematics Learning Center, the Nursing Resource Center, Single Stop and more.

Time Matters

  • Pursuing your Associate's degree provides the time often needed to zero in on your areas of interest before transferring to a four-year university.

Credit Matters

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree at a CUNY college are required to take 6 to 12 additional credits of general education, defined by each college. Students transferring with their completed AA or AS degree will only need to take 6 of those 12 credits once they transfer to a four-year CUNY college.

Employment Opportunities

  • Students entering the workforce with an Associate's degree often find it easier to secure a job or internship while completing a Bachelor's degree.
