Queens College Transfer Honors Program

Renewable for up to four semesters.


Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants to the Transfer Honors Program (THP) must:

1) be a full-time student enrolled in an AA, AS, or BA program with 60 hours completed at the end of the current semester.

2) have a minimum GPA of 3.5

3) be able to demonstrate that you have taken courses in composition, the humanities, the social sciences, mathematics, and the laboratory sciences.

Application Materials/Process:

  • Students must apply to Queens College.
  • Students must also complete the Transfer Honors Program application and submit it with their personal statement, writing sample, transcript, and a letter of recommendation.
  • Letter of Recommendation must be typed on college letterhead and submitted with a Transfer Honors Scholarship Program Faculty Recommendation Form.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to those who file before May 1st for fall admission and December 1st for spring admission.  Supplemental application materials are required. (Students already enrolled at Queens College are not eligible to apply.)

1) Small Honors classes that emphasize discussion and group projects.

2) Dedicated academic advisors who support your transition to Queens College and provide assistance in identifying mentors, applying for internal awards, and preparing for graduate study and career placement.

3) Priority consideration for competitive majors and honors programs.

6) Priority registration.
