Admitted International Students
Welcome to our Tiger Family! Now that you have been accepted to QCC, it’s time to take the next step to secure your enrollment at QCC. This page will be your resource guide from your acceptance to the day classes begin. Welcome, and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
The next 7 steps are to be taken immediately after you receive your acceptance letter from QCC:
Step 1: Claim your CUNYfirst Account (if you have not done so already)
CUNYfirst is your home base for links to and information about financial aid, registration, and more. Visit the CUNYfirst login page to set up your account. Click the “New User” link below the log in fields. Enter your information, and create a new password. Save your password in a safe place! You will use your CUNYfirst account throughout your time at QCC.
Step 2: Accept your Offer of Admissions
Once you claim your CUNYfirst account, click the “I Accept” button to tell us you are coming to QCC. You can do this in the acceptance email we sent you, or through your CUNYfirst student account. If you are having trouble with your CUNYfirst login, you can also email us at admissions@qcc.cuny.edu to let us know you accept your offer of admission. We will email your next steps once you accept your offer.

Accept through the ‘acceptance’ email sent from the Office of Admissions.
II. CUNYfirst Student Account
Once you have claimed your CUNYfirst account, click the “I Accept” button to accept the offer of admission.

If you are having trouble with your CUNYfirst login, please email us at admissions@qcc.cuny.edu to accept the offer on your behalf.
An email will be sent with your next steps when your acceptance is received.
Step 3: Secure your I-20
Apply for your I-20 as soon as you have been accepted to QCC. You will need the I-20 to be able to apply for an F-1 visa. Please contact QCC's International Student Center at isc@qcc.cuny.edu to begin your I-20 application. However, before contacting their office, we encourage you to view this video to learn about the step-by-step process. The International Student Center will also address any questions regarding the F-1 visa application process.
Step 4: Submit your Immunization Records (MMR and Meningitis Form)
All students are required to submit their immunization records to be able to attend classes! The following two steps must be completed to fulfill this requirement:
First Step: provide proof of immunization against Measles, Mumps and Rubella;
Second Step: Complete the Meningitis Meningococcal form. Please review the submission options below.
I. Submit your Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Record
There are multiple ways to submit your MMR records. Please select one of the options below:
Option 1: Submit an image of your vaccination cards with all MMR vaccine dates via email to healthservices@qcc.cuny.edu. Your email must include a clear image of the front and back, with the correct spelling of your name. In your email, please include your CUNY Student ID/EMPL number.
Option 2: Fax your MMR records to 718-631-6330.
Option 3: Submit a copy of your MMR records in-person to QCC's Health Service Office.
Option 4: Download the STUDENT IMMUNIZATION RECORD FORM
- Complete Part 1 of the form
- Part 2 must be completed by your medical provider. Please ensure that the form has been signed and stamped by your provider.
- Part 3 - Complete the Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccination form. Although students are not required to be vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis, the form must be completed. Please review the meningitis section and place a check next to box B if you choose to not receive the vaccine.
Your completed form needs to be submitted to the Office of Health Services at the address below:

*If you graduated from a New York City public high school, your immunization records have been submitted.
II. Complete your MENINGITIS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM in CUNYFirst
- Go to CUNYFirst and login using your username and password
- Navigate to Student Center >> Tasks and Holds
- Click on ‘To Do List’ then click on ‘Meningitis Acknowledgement’
- Click on Complete Meningitis Response Form’
- Follow instructions and click submit
*Please note that the Meningitis vaccine is not required. If you do not have the meningitis vaccine, please check the second or third box on the form before clicking submit.
Step 5: Attend an Accepted Student Webinar
Our Accepted Student Webinars are virtual events led by our admissions staff and current students. You will have the opportunity to learn more about being a student at QCC and how to prepare for your meeting with an academic adviser to select your course schedule. Accepted Student Webinars are by invitation only, so make sure you check your email daily to view your invitation! Register for the session through the link provided in the email and a confirmation will be sent containing the Zoom information for the event.
Step 6: Meet with an Academic Adviser and Register for Classes
It is important that you check your email daily to view important communications for the College. You will receive an email inviting you to schedule an appointment to meet with an Academic Advisor. Click on the link to secure the day and time that works best for you. During your appointment you will have the opportunity to:
- Review your major
- Select your course schedule
- Discuss any questions and concerns
Step 7: Complete the CUNY ESL Test at QCC
All Students who have studied outside of the US will need to take the CUNY ESL Test once they arrive in the US. Please remember that International Students can only arrive in the US 30 days prior to the start of classes Once you arrive, check-in with the International Student Center and stop by the Admissions Office. Our Admissions Team will provide you with available dates and times for you to take the ESL Test. Test scores are used to place you in the appropriate English level courses.
