Carrie Stern teaches Introduction to the Art of dance. She has written about dance for news, popular and scholarly publications. A choreographer and improviser from Chicago, she was a member of the New York Dance Awards committee (Bessies) from 2015-2021 and has served on arts panels in Brooklyn and Westchester, NY. Videos of her site-specific works and “Neighborhood Festival” artifacts, collected with her students at DePaul University, are in Chicago Public Library collections. A long-time Teaching Artist in Chicago and New York public schools; her inter-disciplinary arts programs were funded by Brooklyn Arts Council and NYFA grants.
