Course Description in college catalog:

A practical course exposing the student to the design, fabrication, assembly and trouble-shooting techniques associated with the manufacture and servicing of computer-controlled devices. Working individually, students construct finished products employing Computer Aided Design software, the departmental printed circuit fabrication facility, small tools and test equipment.

Use simulation and PC layout software Produce printed circuit board layouts using CAD software and create professional level analog circuit boards.
Verify that a circuit is working correctly by taking measurements and interpreting the results. Students will assembly and test the Logic Probe. They will verify that the probe is functioning correctly by evaluating the circuit
Use instrumentation equipment and effective measurement techniques for building, testing, and operating of electronic circuits and systems. The students will build and test the Infrared-Controlled Robot and proper operation will be verified.
Describe the interrelationships between technology, professional responsibilities and contemporary society A short reading on ethical behavior as it relates to technology will be handed out. Several short questions relating to the reading will be answered and handed in for grading.
