The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on March, 2nd, 2016, at 1:00 pm in S-418


Committee Members in Attendance:

Emily Berry (Faculty); Yusuf Gurtas (Faculty); Tirandai Hemraj-Benny (Chairperson); Susan McLaughlin (Secretary); Neera Mohess (Faculty); Ryan Moore (Faculty)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm

1. Minutes of Feb. 3, 2015, approved.

2. The committee discussed the upcoming workshop: “Structuring Feedback to Improve Student Writing” to be held Mar. 11, 2016.

a. Chairperson Tirandai Hemraj-Benny will develop a flyer about the workshop that will include bullet points describing the various activities that will take place.

b. Katherine Landy  (CETL) agreed to run the workshop.

c.  Yusuf Gurtas and Emily Berry will collaborate on developing a post-workshop survey, and will send a draft to all committee members for review.

d. The committee decided that both CETL and the committee will send an email to the college to promote the workshop.

3. The next meeting of the committee will take place on April 6 at 1:00 in S-418.

4. The meeting adjourned at 1:30 pm.
