The Academic Senate Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs met on May 6, 2021 at 12:00 pm Virtual Zoom


Committee Members in Attendance:

The meeting was called to order at 12:00 pm

  1. Approved Committee Meeting Minutes from April 8, 2021

 

  1. Welcomed our new members:

  1. ADC Voting Elections:

Chair: Rezan Akpinar

Co-Chair: Melissa Dennihy

 The Committee on Academic Development reviewed:

  • Discussed that faculty on tenure have the option to opt in to distribute student evaluations. Other faculty have a choice to opt in or out.
  • New Student Evaluation forms are approved for Fall 2021.
  • Workshop series are going very well and are being recorded.
  • Rezan would like to send a thank you note to CETL presenters and the leaving members of the committee to show our appreciation and support. The chairperson of the department will also be included in the Thank you note.

 

Fall 2021 plans for ADC:

Discussed working on updating and changing the committee guidelines and the committee name abbreviation for Fall 2021. The committee must justify the reasons for making the changes. Committee will work on adjusting numbers 4 and 5 on our job responsibility list on the website.

·     ADC committee will continue to promote workshops and events for Fall 2021.

·     ADC would like to present the new student evaluation forms at the beginning of Fall 2021.

·     ADC will look more into elective programs to see how we can help promote events.

·     Committee will work on forming sub-groups within the committee so that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
