The meeting was called to order at 1:00pm

  1. Zeynep Akcay (Chair Person-Committee on E-learning) presented a revised version of the Course Evaluation Forms, one that was better suited for partially online courses. After some discussion, a consensus was reached that it would be better to leave the Course Evaluation Forms for regular face-to-face courses unchanged and to create a separate Course Evaluation Form specifically for partially online courses.   However, before writing the new Course Evaluation Form for partially online courses, it was suggested that one should first review a copy of the the Course Evaluation Form for fully online courses.

  1. It was suggested by the Academic Senate Steering Committee that the ADC should serve as a consultant to the subcommittee on Accessibility. Specifically, the ADC would support the aforementioned subcommittee by organizing and promoting workshops related to
    1. “educational activities regarding disability issues of importance to the College community”
    2. educating faculty on the design of ADA compliant courses

In addition, the ADC would also assist the Subcommittee on Accessibility by conducting surveys to gauge the level of awareness at the college on accessibility issues.

  1. The Subcommittee-on-Workshops is planning on organizing a workshop on writing. However, it is unclear at present which aspects of writing the workshop should focus on.  David Pham will provide the Subcommittee-on-Workshops with survey data from 2018-2019 to help answer this question.

  1. Suzan Rickert will join Rex Taibu in the Subcommittee-on-Event-promotion.

  1. It was proposed that the ADC develop their own logo that can be stamped onto the flyers of upcoming events that are promoted\supported by the ADC.

Meeting ended at 2:00 pm

Respectfully submitted,

David Pham
Committee on Academic Development/Elective Academic Programs, Secretary
