The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Admissions met on 09/23/2022, 10am, Virtually


Committee Members in Attendance:

Dr. MD Shahadat Hossain – Engineering Department 

Dr. Sujun Wei – Chemistry Department 

Dr. Jason Demas - Health, Physical Education & Dance

Dr. Sarbani Ghoshal - Biological Sciences & Geology

Dr. Charissa Che - English Department

Andre Combs – Academy Advisement

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 10am

Discussion among committee members:

  1. Minutes from the previous meeting was approved unanimously.
  2. Applications for reinstatement has increase, but not yet reached pre pandemic level.
  3. The committee was asked to discuss if the policy on changing the Fresh Start requirements were supported by the committee. The committee could vote to leave it the same, reduce it to 2 years, or reduce it to 1 year. It was unanimously voted to propose the reduction to 2 years for a student to qualify for Fresh Start
  4. Future meetings will begin to be in person soon and as a committee, we will need to determine a common time when we are all available to meet on campus
  5. Appeals for Reinstatement

        a. The members of the committee reviewed:

           (22) Degree student records

           (0) non-degree student records

           (0) NP-AAS/NS-AAS student records

           A total of (22) Student records

DEGREE

(19) Students approved for re-admission with conditions for the Fall semester.

(3) Students denied re-admissions for the Spring semester.

(0) Students applications deferred based on CCS Committee’s decision.

(0)   Students applications held for more documentation.

(0)   Students applications referred to graduation audit.

The meeting was adjourned at 11am.
