CCAR Committee Meeting: 2/22/23

The Meeting was called in order at 12:30 PM

  • The minutes from the last meeting were approved
  • Laura Cohen spoke about the upcoming events taking place this semester  for Making Global Connections at the KHC. See the website for the schedule.
  • Susan Agin spoke about the new QPAC print brochure for this spring. This can be picked up in her office on the first floor of the library building. In person programs are booked for the Spring including multiple projects offered off campus such as a concert series of 12 free concerts. Susan expressed the Brown Bag event as being advantageous for informing faculty about the potential services students can cull from the three cultural centers.
  • Faustino Quintanilla spoke about the programing in the art gallery and specifics can be found on the website. There has been a great reduction in funding for the basic needs of the gallery.
  • The floor was then open to the members present in person for discussion. Franca mentioned requesting a consent form from lawyer, Louis Ferman, for the viewers in the Brown Bag zoom event. Franca did not receive an answer.
  • Aviva mentioned that it is not hard to get permission; we can have everyone who presents sign a consent form to allow images to be used for educational purposes. Links to a form should be placed on our website.
  • We have new people coming in next year. We need to have a quorum of 5 people in person to vote. The webpage needs to be updated and Franca would like us to look at the page and see what needs to be upgraded. We should do this before the next meeting and email potential changes to Franca by April 30. Franca will email instructions on how to access the Cascade webpage.
  • Franca will start the process of reducing committee members. This begins with a proposal that goes to the bylaws committee and then to the senate.
  • During our next meeting we will talk about the date for next semester’s Brown Bag and we will brainstorm on ways to publicize the gallery.

Respectfully submitted,

Madeline Ruggiero
Committee on Senate Committee on Cultural and Archival Resources, Secretary
