This would be accomplished in numerus ways including standardized exams, evaluating course work, evaluation certificates awarded, etc. It was mentioned this would be a good way to get continuing education students a jumpstart towards a degree if they were awarded credit for prior learning through their program. Continuing education is going through this process.

  1. Ellen Hartigan gave an update on the continuing education department. She stated she is hitting the ground running and learning the ins and outs of the continuing education department. Her main goal is figuring out how to have the continuing education department serve the needs of the college and students. She believes the continuing education department is relatively unknown and is trying to determine the best way to increase CEWD’s visibility. There were suggestions such as advertising CEWD programs to students in classes and linking degree programs to CEWD training programs on our website, etc.
  2. Allison Cimino discussed the USF John Jay Justice of Opportunity Thrive Technical Assistance Scholarship to provide training on serving justice impacted students. There were two dates scheduled March 31, 2023 and April , 2023. Michael Pullin discussed ways to disseminate this info to the college.
