The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Food Insecurity of the Academic Senate met on Monday, March 9, 2020, 2 - 3 P.M, Student Union, Second Floor, Food Pantry Vestibule

The meeting was called to order at 2:15 PM
- The meeting was called to order at 2.15
- The minutes of the meeting of December 16, 2019 meeting, prepared by Dr. Kathleen Alves, were approved, with the amendment of the correction of Director Gonesh’s name, and with one abstention, from Dr. Cornick, who indicated that he had been absent from the meeting.
- King Fung-Shelley (Advisor, CUNYFirst) and Dr. Victoria Terrile (Assistant Professor, Schmeller Library) introduced themselves as Food Pantry volunteers. A third volunteer, Dr. Howard Sporn (Mathematics and Computer Science) was not able to attend.
- Vice-President Kerr, who had brought a generous donation of baby formula, urged members of the Committee to alert him when new orders were needed. At the moment, the pantry’s supplies of milk have declined to very low levels, and Vice-President Kerr indicated that he would let Ms. Weprin know so that she could re-order.
Dr. Kerr left the meeting.
- Professor Tai reported an incident at the Pantry, with a student who took more than the allowed number of items. A lively discussion of possible strategies to averting this situation in the future followed.
- The meeting was adjourned at 2.42 P.M.
