New Business

  • Shout out to the pantry volunteers for their flexibility during the renovations. They are adding space for storage and packing. Once renovations are completed, we can move in. There’s new Lucille A. Bova signage outside and inside the pantry with a photo and plaque. Also, we’re using the bulletin board at the desk to share valuable information such as recipes and information for other community pantries. Ronni will communicate with Facilities on the status of the renovations.
  • There are questions about whether faculty or staff can use the pantry. If there are stipulations in the Petrie funding. We will follow up but agreed that the pantry should be open to the CUNY community.
  • Congratulations to the PTK students for creating a video to promote the pantry. Once captioning is complete and VP Di Dio has vetted the video, it will be streamed (platform TBD). Also, we discussed other ways PTK can be involved in the pantry either working specific hours or on call for big deliveries/events.
  • In our goal to have one big distribution event per semester, we are planning a Thanksgiving drive. Date TBD and currently searching for donors to donate specialty items.
  • Thanks to all our volunteers. More volunteers for the pantry allow for more student access and community engagement. To keep consistency, we reached out to new volunteers for a pantry tour/orientation and created a pantry binder and logging system.
  • We will have a table at the Welcome Fair on 28 Sep during club hours. We ask for committee members to volunteer. Also, we plan to create a small takeaway (bookmark, brochure) to promote the pantry.
  • Dr. Tai plans to reach out to the Neumann Center to collaborate with CFI and to PTK for student volunteers for the Welcome Fair.

Respectfully submitted,
