The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Committees met on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 2:00pm

Committee Members in Attendance:

In attendance:   Isabella Lizzul, Susan Riekert, Hamid Namdar, Danny Sexton, Paul Sideris, Julian Stark

Secretary: Julian Stark

Chair: Danny Sexton

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00pm

The meeting began at 2 PM

The Committee immediately began discussing the population of the College Committees.  Chair Danny Sexton lead the discussion.

1) Melissa Dennihy (English) could go to Course and Standing.

2) We should find a third person for the Curriculum Committee to replace Kerri-Ann Smith (English).

3) Janet F. (Franzese, Nursing?)  should get on the Pre-College Committee

4) Isabella, Danny, and Susan all agreed that the slate of committee membership would be approved by the Senate at the April 18th meeting.  Any outstanding committee issues after this meeting can be settled by email among the membership.  Isabella will email Danny about the Curriculum Committee.

5) Isabella emphasized that we need to send the slate to Scott Litroff with 2 weeks' notice.

6) Phil Pecorino has stepped down from the Curriculum Committee.  Kerri-Ann Smith English will finish his term.

The following were at a minimum in how the committees were populated.  The final slate submitted to the Academic Senate reflected the final disposition.

1) E-Learning: Daniel Garbin (Math), Mark Zelcer (Assistant Professor in Social Sciences), and Elaine Friedman (Speech, Communication, and Theater Arts) were the tentative new members.

2) EQLD Tanya Zhelezcheva (English) took Steph... (don’t have the whole name)

3) Student Activities: Weier Ye (English), whose term is ending, could go to?

4) WID/WAC: Raul Armendariz (Physics) stepped down.  Michael DeMarco’s (Social Sciences) term ends in 2024.

5) Curriculum Committee: Arthur Adair (Speech, Communication, and Theater Arts) no longer wants to serve another 3 years, so a spot is open.  Bonnie Flaherty could possibly go on the committee.

6) Isabella said that Rezan Akpinar (Heath, Physical Education, and Dance) and Melissa Dennihy (English) wish to serve again on Academic Development.  A problem with that is Rezan is on the Curriculum Committee

7) (Faculty who were mentioned who are staying on their committees):

Christopher Rowblodowski (Biology) Course and Standing (2025)

Shenaz Georgilis (Nursing) WID/WAC (2026)

David Pham (Math) Cultural and Archival Resources and WID/WAC (both 2025)

Arthur Abramov (Academic Advisement) Academic Development and Pre-College (both 2025)

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 (I think).
