The Academic Senate Committee on CURRICULUM COMMITTEE met on January 29, 2019 at 2:10 pm in H-239


Committee Members in Attendance:

T. Bayer, T. Holden (Chair), I. Lizzul, J. Murley, J. Nichols, J. Petersen, P. Wallach (Secretary), R. Yuster


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 PM

  1. The minutes of the November 27, 2018 meeting were approved by the committee. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed course revision for SP 212: “Interpersonal Communication.” There were questions about the rationale; the proposal will be sent back to the Department of Speech Communication & Theatre Arts. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed course revision for PH-101: “Principles of Physics.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed course revisions from the Department of Social Sciences:

    CRIM-102 (changing to CRIM-205) Criminology
    CRIM-201 Policing
    CRIM-202 Corrections and Sentencing
    CRIM-203 Criminal Law
    CRIM-204 Crime and Justice in the Urban Community

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present. 
  1. The committee considered the proposed program revision of the Dual-Joint A.S./B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice with John Jay College of Criminal Justice. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 

The meeting was adjourned at 3:25 PM.
