The Academic Senate Committee on Curriculum met on April 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm online via Blackboard Collaborate

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM

  1. The minutes of the April 20, 2021 meeting were approved by the committee. 

  2. Hamid Namdar, Chair, and Belle Birchfield of the Engineering Technology Department discussed new course proposals and program revisions with the committee.

  3. The committee discussed the following new courses from the Engineering Technology Department:

    ET-757 Cloud Technology Developing
    ET-758 Cloud Technology Operations

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.
  1. The committee discussed the following program revisions from the Engineering Technology Department:

    A.A.S., Electronic Engineering Technology
    A.A.S., Computer Engineering Technology
    A.A.S., Telecommunications Technology
    A.A.S., Internet and Information Technology

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present. 

  1. Bjorn Berkhout, Chair, and Neeraj Mehta of the Music Department discussed course and program revisions with the committee.
  1. The committee discussed the following course revisions from the Music Department:

    MUS-101 Introduction to Music (2C1)

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present. 

  2. The committee discussed the following program revisions from the Music Department:

    Music – Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree
    A.A.S. Music Production

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.

  3. Punita Bhansali, of the Department of Biological Sciences and Geology and Andrea Salis, Chair, of the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Dance discussed the program revision of the Medical Assistant A.A.S. Program for the Department of Biological Sciences and Geology. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted, and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
  1. The committee discussed the report from the Monday, April 26, meeting of the Subcommittee of Committee on Curriculum on Computer Courses and Programs.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:08 PM.
