The Academic Senate Committee on Curriculum met on May 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm online via Blackboard Collaborate


Committee Members in Attendance:

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 PM

  1. The minutes of the May 5, 2020 meeting were approved by the committee.

  2. The committee discussed the Expedited Substantive Change Request Form for Distance Education to be submitted to Middle States 6/1/2020.

  3. Dr. Kimberly Riegel, of the Department of Physics, presented courses for the department.

  4. The committee considered the following new courses from the Department of Physics.

    PH-160 Physics Colloquium
    PH-451 Numerical Methods for Scientists
    PH-501 Special Topics in Physics

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present.

  5. The committee considered the new program for the Physics A.S. Degree. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.

  6. J. Murley resigned as Secretary of the Committee for the academic year 2020-2021. The committee conducted an election and Dr. I. Lizzul was elected as the Secretary of the Committee for the academic year 2020-2021.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 PM.
