The Academic Senate Committee on CURRICULUM COMMITTEE met on November 19, 2019 at 2:10 pm in S-415

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 PM

  1. The minutes of the October 29, 2019 meeting were approved by the committee. 
  1. The committee welcomed new member Doreen Fox-Herron from the Registrar. 
  1. Mercedes Franco, Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, presented courses for the department. 
  1. The committee considered the experimental new course MA-301ALP: “Corequisite Support for Mathematics for the Liberal Arts.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 
  1. The committee considered the experimental new course CS-100ALP: “Corequisite Support for Introduction to Computers and Programming.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was not approved by those present. 
  1. The committee discussed the requirements of submitting changes to prerequisites in anticipation of future changes in remedial placement. 
  1. The committee discussed the curricular change flowchart and made recommendations for changes. 

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 PM.
