The Academic Senate Committee on Curriculum met on November 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm online via Blackboard Collaborate


Committee Members in Attendance:

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 PM

  1. The minutes of the November 16, 2021 meeting were approved by the committee. 

  2. The committee considered the proposal from the Nursing Department for course deletions of the following courses:

    NU-203 Issues and Trends in Nursing
    IS-210 Complementary and Alternative Therapies

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present. 

  3. The committee welcomed Dr. Georgia McGill, Chair of the Department of Communication, Theatre, & Media Production, to discuss proposals for course deletions of the following courses:

    SP-005 Speech Communication Skills for Students of English as a Second Language: Sound Structure of America
    SP-006 Speech Communication Skills for Students of English as a Second Language: Stress & Intonation of America
    SP-020 Improving Speech Skills
    SP-434 Introduction to Radio and Television Broadcasting
    SP-730 History of Radio and TV

    After discussing the proposals, the committee voted, and the proposals were approved unanimously by those present. 

  4. The committee considered the program revision for the Medical Assistant A.A.S. Program from the Department of Biological Sciences & Geology. After discussing the proposal, the committee voted, and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.

    The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 PM.
