The Academic Senate Committee on eLearning met on May 13, 2021 at 3:00PM via Zoom (Online)


Committee Members in Attendance:

In Attendance: Randelle Sasa (2022), Punita Bhansali (2023), Svjetlana Bukvich-Nichols (2021), Merlinda Drini Prelvukaj (2023), Lakersha Smith (2021), Zhou Zhou (2022), Tony Monahan (2024), Fei Ye (2024), Humberto Morales (2024), Celia Sporer (2023)

Not present: Susan Lago (2022), Denis Bejar (IT Academic Applications Director), Eugene Desepoli III (2021


Liaisons in Attendance:

Zivah Perel Katz (Steering Committee Designee), Sandra Palmer (President's Designee)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 3:05 PM

I. April 15, 2021 meeting minute was approved by unanimous vote.

II. Old Business

  1. Old Business

    3.1            Marketing of online courses

                      Sasa said he is still constructing draft of the upcoming newspaper.

    3.2            Virtual E-Learning Sessions

                      All new members reported they have finished e-learning institute training.

              

    3.3            Policies and Standards for eLearning at QCC

                    Committee reported that

    • Faculty members haven’t seen their evaluations of spring 2020.
    • 60% Faculty members reported that they haven’t seen fall 2020 evaluations yet.
    • No college wide evaluations for spring 2021

III. Other Business: 

  1. Committee Membership matters

    2.1            New members introduction

    Tony Monahan (2024), Fei Ye (2024), Humberto Morales (2024), Celia Sporer (2023). Three new members briefly introduced themselves and they were welcomed to the e-Learning committee.

    2.2            Gratitude to the exiting members

    Svjetlana Bukvich-Nichols (2021), Eugene Desepoli III (2021) and Lakersha Smith (2021)

    2.3 Election of New Officers
    • Susan Lago was elected chair.
    • Zhou Zhou was elected secretary.

Adjournment

Meeting was adjourned at 3.45 by Randelle Sasa. The next general meeting will be Sept. 9, 2021, 3PM via Zoom.
