Library Committee Meeting

Minutes

September 28, 2022

Meeting held on Zoom and called to order at 12:15 PM.

  • Agenda approved
  • Meeting minutes from 5/18/22 approved
  • Old/ongoing business discussed
    • Starbucks placement. Starbucks is now moved from the front of the library.
    • Student survey distribution. The survey has been completed by the committee and is now awaiting distribution by institutional research.  Has not yet been distributed due to a backlog of surveys to be distributed to students.  Jed Shahar will communicate with institutional research to identify an optimal time and manner to get the survey out to students.  We would like it to go out as soon as possible.  Responses could be valuable in planning upcoming library committee activities.
  •  New Business
    • Survey question replacement. Questions on the survey relating to Starbucks need to be replaced as the Starbucks movement has already occurred. We would be interested in replacing those questions with information about how to make the space welcoming to students and include questions on which hours would be most accommodating for students.
    • Reach out to the library to see who would be the library liaison. Elizabeth Sutton will reach out to Prof. Connie Williams by email to see if a library representative will be available for the next committee meeting.
    • Next meeting. 16, 2022,  at 12:15, room MA 123.  The meeting will be in person with hybrid option.

Respectfully submitted,

Elizabeth Sutton
