Debra Maslanko

Ms. Debra Maslanko is the Administrative Director for Business Operations for the Office of Academic Affairs at Queensborough Community College.  Prior to working in OAA, Ms. Maslanko was a lecturer and the Adjunct Coordinator in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science since 2009. She was one of the faculty that first worked on and implemented the Math ALP initiative, has served on the B-TECH Early College Initiative Committee since its inception in 2014, and published an OER textbook with department colleagues.

Ms. Maslanko earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from Lehman College, with an emphasis on education.  Prior to earning her degrees, Ms. Maslanko had varied, extensive business experience, ranging from running a family-owned manufacturing plant to managing tax-sheltered investments.

Since assuming her current position, Ms. Maslanko is responsible for monitoring the OAA budget, the CUE budget, in addition to overseeing the budgets of the Academic Departments.  She is also responsible for faculty/staff travel, faculty workload, faculty compensation for special projects, as well as administering the STEM Tuition Waiver Program and the Milestone Scholarship.
