Course Description in college catalog:

A brief survey of: the American legal system; business ethics; the development and application of essential principles of the law of business contracts; constitutional law; criminal law; tort law; intellectual property law; and the study of New York State laws and recent cases.

Students will achieve the following course objectives:

  1. Students will be able to describe the difference between civil and criminal laws.

  2. Students will possess an understanding of criminal liability, civil liability and contract issues associated with business.

  3. Students will possess a knowledge of the relationships between the various levels of laws and regulations and how they related to the United States Constitution.
