Principles of money and banking; development of money and credit system; U.S. monetary history; American banking institutions, including policies and operations of Federal Reserve system; monetary and fiscal policies; inflation and international monetary institutions.

  1. Students will be able to define the roll of financial markets and institution.

  2. Students will be able to define the functions of the Federal Reserve System.

  3. Students will understand how monetary policy is conducted in the United States.

  4. Students will be able to differentiate between money markets and capital markets.

  5. Students will demonstrate understanding of equity markets.
