The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness met on December 8, 2021 at 12:10PM via secure online meeting


Committee Members in Attendance:

Thomas Byrnes (Admissions, 2023), Chukwudi Ikwueze (Social Sciences, 2022), Kevin Kolack (Chemistry, 2022, Secretary), Manuel Martinez (English, 2022), Renee Rhodd (Transfer Resources Center, 2024), Barbara Rome (Nursing, 2023), Mark Ulrich (Business, 2024), 

Absent: Urszula Golebiewska (Biology, 2024), Biao Wang (Math, 2023), TBA (student representatives)

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:15 PM

  1. Approval of agenda. Approved without objections.
  2. Approval of minutes from November 10th, 2021. Approved without objections.
  3. Presentation of selected non-teaching departments' assessment results
    1. TB- Academic Affairs, Academic Computing Center, CETL
    2. BR- International Affairs, Health Services, Financial Services
    3. MM- completed ASAP, College Discovery, Counseling; will present next time
  4. Old business
    1. Update on Committee Addendum
      Posted draft motion and voted approved. KK will post to the web page.
    2. Update from the Working Group for the creation of a rubric for assessing program reviews
      BR and UG did not make progress. Hope to do so prior to first Spring 2022 meeting.
    3. Update on survey form for collecting assessment information from departments
      IB will send BR the existing SurveyMonkey survey to import into Qualtrics, adding a question asking “what assessment activities are occurring in the dept, and by who?” This could then be sent to teaching and non-teaching depts. Hope to get some data by time of Spring meeting with Provost.
  5. New business
    1. Spring planning- finish reviewing all non-teaching reports, review teaching department reports, approve program review rubric
