The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness met on September 14 at 12:10PM via secure online meeting

Absent:  Kathryn Wong (College Discovery, 2025), TBA (student representatives)

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:10 PM

  1. Approval of minutes from May 11, 2022 meeting, and approval of agenda
    1. Both unanimously approved 
  2. Discuss Scheduling and procedure for review of teaching and non-teaching departments, and programs.
    1. Dean Corradetti discussed the teaching and non-teaching department reports that have been completed and are up for review.  
    2. Prof. Rome will create assignments for committee members to review reports. 
  3. Coordination with departmental assessment committees
    1. Based on suggestions from the Academic Senate Steering Committee, Dr. Golebiewska suggested that the Committee poll department chairs to determine if departments have assessment committees and/or assessment coordinators.  Also to ask whether any department assessment coordinators were ever members of the Committee on Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness.  
  4. New business
    1. Ian Beckford would like Committee comments on the gen-ed assessment.  A copy of Ian’s report will be forwarded to Committee members as soon as it is available.
  5. Next meeting, October 12, 2022
