  4. Ian Beckford presented on the “General Education Assessment of Artifacts Fall 2019 Fall 2020 and Spring 2921” report. Ian asking for committee members to review report and provide feedback to him no later than October 21st, 2022. Ian hopes that the committee will be ambassadors for assessment in individual departments which will improve the quality of assignments submitted to the General Education Taskforce. Arthur Corradetti asked for clarification on how faculty receive feedback after submitting artifacts. Ian Beckford stated that he looks strategically at a sub-set of faculty teaching in common core classes to capture as many of the outcomes as possible and every faculty who participates receives a memo on how their students perform. Ian also stated that the outcome: “Apply information management and digital technology skills useful for academic research and lifelong learning” has been a challenge to measure because the quality and number of artifacts submitted has decreased.
  5. Arthur Corredetti brought up that most of the courses that contribute to the five General Education Outcomes come from the Common Core. He brought up the possibility of changing the General Education Outcomes to the Common Core Outcomes. Committee will discuss at the December meeting.
  6. Committee discussed the survey that was sent to department chairs regarding assessment committees in their department. Barbara Rome will follow up with Ian Beckford for results.
  7. Next meeting November 9th, 2022.
  8. Meeting adjourned 1:06pm
