The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness met on November 9, 2022 at 12:10PM via secure online meeting

Thomas Byrnes (Admissions, 2023), Urszula Golebiewska (Biology, 2024, co-Chair), Susana Pinheiro (Math, 2025), Barbara Rome (Nursing, 2023, co-Chair), Mark Ulrich (Business, 2024, Secretary), Matthew Lau (English, 2025); Renee Rhodd (Transfer Resources Center, 2024), Kathryn Wong (College Discovery, 2025)

Absent: Biao Wang (Math, 2023) TBA (student representatives)

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:10 PM

  1. Approval of minutes from October 12, 2022 meeting, and approval of agenda
    1. Both unanimously approved 
  2. Discussion of the open meeting rules in the post-COVID environment and how they impact the modality of future meetings
  3. Next meeting date will be on December 14 in-person.  A majority of committee members indicated their availability.
  4. Presentation of nondepartmental reports

  5. Old business
    1. Barbara continues to check with chairs for departmental assessment contacts
    2. Arthur asked to add an agenda item for a future meeting about Pathways Common Core and how it should be assessed.  Committee members were asked to read about Pathways Common Core before the next meeting.
