The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness met on December 14, 2022 at 12:10PM in M340

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 12:10 PM

  1. Approval of minutes from November 9th, 2022 meeting, and approval of agenda 
    1. Unanimous approval
  2. Review of year end reports of non-teaching departments
    1. Susana Pinheiro
    2. Kathryn Wong
    3. BIao Wan (presented by Urszula)
    4. Renee Rhodd (presented by Urszula) [reviewed academic departments]
  3. Discussion on documenting assessment of the year end reports
    1. Use the overall grid listing of departments to keep track to report results of review of assessment reports.  List will be shown to the VPs to begin discussion on assisting departments in improving assessment reports.
    2. Aggregate report will be sent to the Academic Senate.  List of departments that did not submit reports would also be reported.
    3. Idea to present at the Academic Senate on best practices in developing assessment report.  Assessment committee and Drs. Corradetti and Beckford are available to support departments.
  4. Discussion on Gen Ed objectives vs. Pathways objectives
    1. Continued discussion on how to best assess general education outcomes and Pathways outcomes.
