The Academic Senate Committee on Bylaws met on Thursday, May 2, 2019, 1:00 pm, via conference call

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm

On Thursday May 2nd at 1 pm the Bylaws committee convened on a conference call.  The meeting was called to order once a quorum had been achieved.

There was one addition to the bylaws to discuss and vote on.

1. The amendment concerning the “Administration Support for the Operation of the Academic Senate”:

Article I Section 4. Officers

4. The Steering Committee of the Academic Senate shall present at the start of each academic year a report to the Academic Senate of the Steering Committee request for resources in support for the operation of the Academic Senate submitted to the College Administration and a report on the response to that request and on any distribution of resources supplied by the Administration. Resources in the above refers only to any reassigned time allocated for certain officers on certain committees.

After discussion, there was motion (seconded) to vote on the proposed change. The addition to the bylaws was unanimously approved.

The committee then discussed the time and date of its final meeting for the year. In addition, the committee discussed the possibility of establishing deadlines for proposals to changes to the bylaws. The chair offered to bring this to the attention of members of the Steering Committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
