  • We agreed on the following dates and time for our committee meetings during Fall 2020:

             10/21 at 1PM; 11/11 at 1PM and;12/2 at 1PM (only if deemed necessary)

  • We voted and approved May 2020 minutes.
  • Urszula notified that Leslie Francis is the new Steering Committee liaison for this academic year.
  • We discussed the “Change in the Academic Senate Bylaws Article VII, Section 24” proposed by the Committee on the Library. Though the document under review was not in its final form, we had the following questions for the Committee on the Library:
  1. Did the Committee on the Library consult or survey the Library Department with regards the proposed changes?
  2. What was the rational behind the proposed changes?
  3. We would like to have a look at last year’s Committee Library’s minutes and year-end report to gain a better understanding with regards to the rationale for the proposed changes.
  • For next meeting all the Bylaws committee members will read and comment the 2007 Committee Guide to verify that the information is up to date. We will discuss all necessary changes during next meeting.
  • New business: Urszula will ask the Steering Committee if we can use Microsoft Team as a tool for virtual communication and collaboration among the members of the committee.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:45PM

Respectfully submitted,

Franca Ferrari-Bridgers
Committee on Bylaws, Secretary
