The Academic Senate Committee on Bylaws met on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 1:10 PM, Medical Arts 209


Committee Members in Attendance:

Franca Ferrari, Urszula Golebiewska (Secretary), Md Shahadat Hossain, Sebastian Murolo (Chair), Weier Ye


Liaisons in Attendance:

Liza Larios (President's Designee)

William Ryan (Steering Committee's Designee)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 1:10 PM

 

  1. The attendance was taken, the quorum was present.  
  2. The Minutes of the November 20th 2019 meeting were distributed, voted on and approved electronically in December 2019.
  3. During December 2019, the committee voted electronically on the request to split the Committee on Pre-College, Continuing Education and Workforce Development into two separate committees. The request was approved.
  4. Added language regarding the Bylaw proposal previously approved by the Bylaws Committee to split up the Committee on Pre-College, Continuing Education and Workforce Development into two new Standing Committees. Dean Larios informed the committee that she inquired with VP Palmer regarding the adding language; VP Palmer agreed with the added language. A motion was made, seconded, the vote was 4 in favor and 1 abstention. The added language was approved.
  5. Dr. Ferrari stated that she strongly disagree with meetings scheduled on a short notice.
  6. New business: The committee set following dates for the Spring 2020 meetings: February 26th, April 1st and April 29th.  

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 PM
