New Committee Charges

Checking broken links

The college has a program that automatically checks for broken links, some of the links to pages with course descriptions link to the Cascade web editor rather than a publicly accessible page.

Additionally, a task for the next meeting is to think about common content that would be listed on each of the academic department web pages.

Creating videos on uploading content

The videos in question would help people who are uploading content into the website.

For the next meeting, we will bring together ideas on what the videos would need to include. Nisha Faruqui (replacement for Dave Moretti) would need to be involved with this.

Faculty Handbook Updates and Discussion

The committee discussed what to present to the senate once all departmental guidelines are approved by the senate.

The committee will request to that the senate vote on a motion that would establish that tenure and promotion guidelines for each department would be decided only by department faculty. The committee discussed how to go about requesting that such a motion be brought before the senate. Christina Manzo volunteered to reach out to Stephen Dahlke to ask about this.

Sushma Teegala suggested that we consider tenure and promotion guidelines for lecturers as well as professors.

Upcoming Meeting:

The next meeting will be on the second Thursday of March 10 2022 at 12:30pm.

Stephen Di Dio made a motion to adjourn the meeting, which passed at 1:07pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Patrick Byers
Committee on Publications, Secretary
