1. Approval of the minutes of the November 28, 2018, monthly meeting

  • Mohammad Javdan moved the motion to approve the minutes and they were unanimously approved.

2. Pending 2017-2018 Academic Year Publications Committee Annual Report

  •  The 2017-2018 Publications Committee report was not submitted to Dave Moretti in January, 2019, as planned. Faustino Quintanilla did not complete the website review works assigned to him. The committee agreed to send additional emails to him and Kwang Kim advised Mohammad Javdan to copy all members in all future correspondences with Faustino Quintanilla.

3. Planned Workshop Postponed

  • Mohammad Javdan announced the postponment of the previously planned workshop scheduled for March, 2019. The reason was that Dave Moretti would not be available to coach members due to his involvement in the preparation for the upcoming Middle States visit to Queensborough Community College. Thye workshop will now be held in the 2019 Fall Semester.

4. New Business

  • Mohammad Javdan announced that the academic department webpage competition will hold at the end of April, 2019. He will send out a rubric which will be based on 1-3 rating system. Upon agreeing to a suggestion by Kwang Hyun Kim, not to rate their own department's webpage, the committee will allow members to rate all academic departments webpages except their own. Another suggestion by Kwang Hyun Kim for the committee to align the content of its rubric to that of the Queensborough Community's rubric for rating webpages was not adopted, because Mohammad Javdan explained that the objectives for both webpage reviews were different. Based on members' webpage ratings, at the end of aprial April 2019 meeting, the committee will select two winning departments, for the best and most improved website. As agreed in the November 2018 meeting,  the committee will anounce the winners of the webpage in May, 2019.
  • Mohammad Javdan and Chukwudi Ikwueze will attend the upcoming chairs/secretary meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, and Wednesday, April 10, 2019, by 12:15 PM-1:45 PM, Humnaities building, Room 110. Based on the emails from Jannette Urciuoli and Steve Dahlke, secretary and vice chair of the Senate Steering Committee, respectively, the meeting will review committee webpages and Dave Moretti will show how to use the web template to prepare an anual report.

5. Next Meeting
